I’m interested as to the connection between the Beatitudes and your statement that “happiness is an attitude of mind.”

Are the things described in the Beatitudes things we are meant to practice, and through practicing them we develop the “attitude of mind” of which you speak?

Or are we meant to practice the attitude of mind in spite of the things described in the Beatitudes (such as mourning and being persecuted)?

Today has been a good day for us. My son and his family who live in Fort Worth, TX came for a weekend visit. Our two grandchildren, Kari and Evan, are precious. If only Matt and Alisa would come home too, we would have all our family together. Psalm 118 is one of my favorites.

THANKS. THANK GOD FOR TIME!. IT ALLOWS US TO DO MANY THINGS. ONE OF WHICH IS TO GET OUR PRIORITIES IN ORDER! I PETER SHOULD BE READ SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY. THE LONGSUFFERING OF GOD AND THE CROSS OF CHRIST DEFINES SIN AND SUFFERING. THIS GIVES ME HOPE. I DON’T KNOW WHY SOME SUFFER MORE THAN OTHERS. BUT THERE ARE A LOT OF THINGS I DO NOT UNDERSTAND. THAT IS WHY I HAVE FAITH IN GOD AND CHRIST.

Why do you feel that time is more valuable than health? I am interested in your philosophy about that. I tend to feel that health is more important than time, but perhaps I am not looking at it in the right way. My husband suffers every day with chronic pain from a bone disease and to him time is a promise of more suffering. If he had health, however, he would enjoy the time he had and the joy of good health would be what made time valuable to him.

Yes, or Psalm 111:10 — The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

But, I like the quote from the western movie. The trouble is that it’s pretty easy to recognize the ignorance of others and not so easy to see in in oneself. I like your consistency with allowing the Word to speak for itself. I’m a wordy person however and just can’t keep from writing my thoughts down.
